Earth Day: A Moment to Behold the Life

From our inception, Project Biome has been guided by the brief that humanity needs to realign itself with Nature. We hold a deep devotion to Mother Earth, and we put Life at the centre of our work and contemplation—not the economy, not human need, but Life. We honour the consciousness and profound intelligence of Living Systems and orient with gratitude to the dazzling brilliance of Life in its complex, interconnected systems.
This Earth Day, we give thanks to the humbling gift of being human in, as Mary Oliver wrote, “the soft animal of your body.” We express gratitude at the opportunity to move through the world with more wisdom and grace. As we celebrate Life in all its splendour, we are called to move beyond transactional language. Terms like “ecosystem services” reduce the Living World to a collection of disposable resources for our use and misuse. It diminishes the true value of a planet that has remained resilient, patient, and generous despite centuries of exploitation and extraction.
In a time of awakening and realisation of what Life really is, Project Biome seeks to collaborate with the vast intelligence and beauty of Life. Our time is now, Family. We are invited to weave with life, with All Our Relations, to decompress from the chronic stress that comes with a competitive, extractive form of living that has become the norm. Leaning into Nature’s coherence allows us to find each other in a space where there is endless room for freedom and creativity.
We invite you to join our Constellation as they engage in radical collaboration.
We encourage you to observe the work of Solutioning Hive as they support on the ground activations in South Africa in the rewilding and regenerative space.
We ask you to behold the voices of our Youth Fellowship as they seek to transform the world with their curiosity and courage.
This Earth Day, may you recline into a tree, touch earth, connect with creation. May you be aware of the trees, of Nature observing you, and the invitation of this activated Life relationship.
In peace, love and respect,
Stella Horgan and the Project Biome team.
